Helping people at home and abroad become devoted followers of Christ
Meet the Elders!
Martin

I am married to Kathryn. We have a collie called Flint

I became a Christian in my first year at university in 1983. Looking back I can see that the Lord had been getting me to question what was going to eventually happen to me, once I died. I realised that I had the chance to go to heaven or hell. I didn’t like the 2nd option, so I considered how I might attain the first... shortly after that I attended a talk on Christianity & there became a Christian.

Life after that was quite bumpy! I more-or-less fell away from the faith, within a year or so, although I never stopped believing in God. I moved to Tenby in South Wales & spent several years there, without much faith. I then moved back to Northampton & through a friend & visiting his church my faith was re-kindled.

I’ve been married 3 times. My first marriage broke up, due in large part, to satanic attack, whilst my second wife died of breast cancer.

I have been a graphic designer for many years. In April 2007 I took the plunge & became a full-time, self-employed artist.  My first “Year4Art” saw me concentrating on acrylic painting, whilst my second has seen me shift from painting to drawing cartoons. Currently I am engaged in a very exciting project of drawing biblical cartoons. I aim to have a web site up & running in the near future where I will be able to provide bible-based cartoons to pastors, missionaries, teachers, book & magazine publishers, etc.

How about a few interesting facts?

Age: 45

Sporting interest: I enjoy participation, but dislike being a spectator!

Guilty pleasure: Watching “Star Trek”  & other sci-fi.

Favourite colour: Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Purple... in fact, pretty much all colours...hey, I am an artist after all!

Biggest adventure: I went by myself to Morocco for Christmas & New Year several years ago. I organised the flight, accommodation, etc, but essentially went “on spec” with no real idea of what I was doing. I trusted in God to keep me safe... & He did. One of the high points of that adventure was taking my sleeping bag & walking out into the sand dunes & sleeping under the stars in the middle of nowhere!

Dislikes: superficial, meaningless chit-cat... probably because I’m no good at it!

Likes: Walking my collie dog, Researching information about the Bible, for my cartoons, I play the guitar...badly! reading, cinema / TV / DVD, having people round for dinner / hospitality, in-depth conversations.

One thing that might surprise you: I have never “brought anyone to Christ”, & seen them become a Christian. I hope I will, before I die.

And a motto for life: ‘Be true to your work, your word, your friend, yourself  & to Christ.’
