10 years of service!
Where are you going to get great cooking at really affordable prices? In these economically challenging days we appreciate that most people are on the hunt for a good deal, but you don't have to look far.
The Olive Branch is a Coffee Shop run for the community inside the Library & Community Centre by BCF Action Ltd, a charitable company set up by Brixworth Christian Fellowship. Staffed by a combination of part-time paid and volunteer workers, The Olive Branch opened in April 1999 with a vision to serve the community and reach out to the village with the love of Jesus Christ.
Apart from the expected range of coffee, teas, snacks, light lunches etc., it has developed a reputation as being one of the few places where home-made cakes are still available. The Brixworth Breakfast (bacon, sausages, beans, egg and toast) is also a firm favourite, so that most lunch times are busy, while on Saturday mornings the shop can be crowded!
Each Wednesday lunchtime a special meal for senior citizens is served and a short talk on a Christian theme precedes this. These lunches are so popular that advance booking is advised! The Olive Branch can also cater for small functions held at the Community Centre.
In addition to selling food, we have a selection of Christian literature freely available and also sell Christian greetings cards.
Opening hours: The Olive Branch is currently open 9.30am to 3.00pm on Mondays to Thursdays, and 9.30am to 1.00pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Information about The Olive Branch can be obtained either by contacting one of the church leaders, or by telephoning the shop on 01604 889030.
